Tierärztin Andrea Schwan
I am a vet by conviction and out of a genuine passion for animals and their health. Even during my studies, one question in particular fascinated me: why do animals fall ill? This quest to understand the causes continues to drive me to this day.
In my daily work, my aim is not merely to treat symptoms, but to understand the underlying connections. After all, everything in the body is interconnected – the gut, metabolism and immune system in particular play a central role in our animals’ health. I am inspired by the combination of sound conventional medicine and holistic approaches. I find it fascinating to bring these two worlds together and develop an individual solution for each animal. Time and again, I see how much can change when you broaden your perspective and don’t just treat symptoms in isolation.
My Approach
I combine traditional veterinary medicine with holistic methods to find tailored solutions. My particular areas of focus are:
- Gut health & the microbiome
- Metabolism and dietetics
- Internal medicine
- Ultrasound diagnostics
- Holistic therapeutic approaches (e.g. mycotherapy)
I am fascinated by how closely all the body’s processes are interconnected and how much can be achieved when one understands these interrelationships.
My Career Path
- Studied Veterinary Medicine at the University of Leipzig (2009–2015, State Examination)
- Veterinarian since 2015

What matters to me
I take the time to look closely and listen carefully. Because behind every symptom lies a story. My aim is not just to provide short-term relief, but to bring about real, long-term change – for a healthy, vibrant life.
