Chief Veterinarian Thomas Backhaus

Veterinarian Thomas Backhaus is one of the pioneers of integrative veterinary medicine and is the head of the 5-E™ Veterinary Practice. With over 40 years’ experience as a practising veterinarian, manager of several veterinary clinics and founder of the 5-E™ Veterinary Practice in Thalfang, he combines in-depth medical knowledge with a profound understanding of the holistic interrelationships within the organism.His professional specialism lies in holistic veterinary medicine, with a particular focus on mitochondrial medicine. As early as 1996, he founded the ‘Römische Villa’ veterinary practice in Longuich and has since continuously developed innovative approaches to diagnosis and treatment. Today, alongside his practice, he also runs a coaching centre for holistic veterinary medicine.As a prolific author, developer and international speaker, Thomas Backhaus has been shaping the advancement of animal health for decades. His work ranges from treating complex cases and helping to develop innovative products to intensive knowledge transfer.
